Juventus Set for Major Changes in Senior Management: Calvo Departs, Chiellini Poised for Expanded Role

Juventus are on the brink of significant changes at the executive level as the club prepares for a pivotal summer, both on and off the pitch. With Champions League qualification still uncertain, the Bianconeri are also navigating a period of transition behind the scenes.

Francesco Calvo’s Departure

Gianluca Di Marzio reports how Francesco Calvo, currently serving as Managing Director of Revenue & Football Development, has confirmed his resignation and will leave Juventus at the end of the season. Calvo, a key figure in the club’s recent strategic transformation, played a central role in guiding Juventus through a challenging period. His leadership and expertise were instrumental in shaping the club’s commercial and football operations.

Calvo is set to join Aston Villa in the Premier League, where he will take on a leading role in the club’s business operations. His departure marks the end of his second tenure at Juventus and leaves a notable gap in the club’s senior management. Juventus will now begin the search for a new commercial director to continue the work Calvo has overseen.

Giorgio Chiellini’s Expanding Responsibilities

Attention is also turning to Giorgio Chiellini, the legendary former defender who currently holds the position of Head of Football Institutional Relations. The club’s leadership is considering making Chiellini’s role more operational, with greater involvement in the sporting area. He could soon be working closely alongside sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, taking part in key decisions that shape the future of the team.

Chiellini may also assume some of Calvo’s responsibilities, particularly those related to Juventus’ representation within the FIGC (Italian Football Federation), further solidifying his influence within the club’s hierarchy.

A Club in Transition

These changes follow other recent adjustments within Juventus’ leadership structure, all under the continued guidance of John Elkann. Earlier this year, Maurizio Scanavino stepped down from his role as president of JEDI to focus entirely on Juventus, signaling a broader restructuring at the executive level.

As Juventus look to the future, the club remains committed to adapting and evolving, confident in its ability to manage high-level transitions. The coming months will be crucial as the Bianconeri seek to maintain stability and ambition during this period of renewal.
