Fiorentina have finalised the permanent signing of Nicolo Fagioli from Juventus after triggering the obligation to buy clause in his loan agreement. This decision was activated following Fiorentina’s sixth-place finish in Serie A, which secured their qualification for next season’s UEFA Conference League.
Under the terms of the deal, Fiorentina will pay Juventus a base fee of €13.5 million for the Italian midfielder. The agreement also includes potential bonuses of up to €3 million, depending on performance-related conditions. Fiorentina had previously paid €2.5 million for the initial loan, bringing the possible total expenditure for Fagioli’s transfer to €19 million if all bonus clauses are met.
Fagioli, who joined Juventus as a teenager in 2015, is making his first permanent move away from the Turin club after accumulating 69 senior appearances, including 52 in Serie A where he scored three goals. Since arriving at Fiorentina during the winter transfer window, Fagioli quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad. He featured in all 15 available Serie A matches and started in five of the team’s six Conference League games following his arrival.
