Edon Zhegrova was officially unveiled as a new Juventus player and spoke at his presentation press conference, sharing his first impressions, ambitions and updates on his fitness.
Speaking about his arrival, Zhegrova said: “I am very happy and proud, these first days have been great.”
On why he chose Juventus, he explained: “The club convinced me. I always wanted to come to a great club and the project convinced me. I know David, I know he has quality, and the team has quality. I think I can make my contribution.”
The Kosovan winger admitted he is still recovering physically. “I had a difficult period but I feel better. I have started working again to be at my best, and the staff are helping me. I think very soon I will be ready and able to resume properly.”
Looking ahead, Zhegrova made clear his ambition. “I think this team has quality. The team wants to win all the matches. We will take it game by game and then we will see further down the line.”
Asked about facing Juventus in the past, he reflected: “Yes, of course. When I played against Juventus it was a great match and an opportunity to show what we could do. That time has passed, now I am happy to be here. Everyone is helping me settle in. I am delighted to be a part of this club and I cannot wait.”
He also touched on family pride, revealing a personal connection. “My Albanian passport came thanks to a great Juventus fan, who was very proud and helped me a lot. I am grateful to him, and perhaps I will give him my first shirt.”
Recalling how the move came together, he said: “Juventus is a great club, and I always wanted to play for one. The first time I met Comolli and Chiellini I was happy about their interest, and it was a dream becoming reality. I am particularly happy and proud.”
Zhegrova also addressed his nickname. “I use the nickname ‘Lion’, first and foremost mentally.”
On his first impressions of the squad, he explained: “I have just started training because I had to complete all the documentation. I only began recently. I have spoken to the coach, and then we will see where he wants me to play.”
Finally, Zhegrova confirmed he will not feature in the upcoming derby clash. “I will not be part of the match against Inter, I still need to work. I know how important the match is and I will support the team.”
