Guerreiro

“Mourinho Calls, Kostic Answers?” – Juventus Weigh Up Guerreiro Move

Calciomercato report that José Mourinho has set his sights on Filip Kostic for Benfica’s January transfer window, while Juventus monitor Raphael Guerreiro as a possible reinforcement on the left flank.

Kostic, Juventus’ Serbian left-sided winger, has already worked under Mourinho during his loan spell at Fenerbahce last season. The Portuguese coach is now keen to reunite with him in Lisbon and bring his experience and delivery down the left to Benfica. Signed by Juventus in the summer of 2022 from Eintracht Frankfurt for 14.7 million euros plus 1.3 million in bonuses, the 1992-born wide man is under contract with the Bianconeri until June 2026 and earns a net salary of 2.5 million euros per year.

Since arriving in Turin, Kostic has made 99 appearances for Juventus in all competitions, scoring 5 goals, providing 16 assists and collecting 6 yellow cards. Those numbers underline his consistency and usefulness as a provider from wide areas, which explains why Mourinho views him as an ideal fit for his Benfica side.

Juventus Keep An Eye On Guerreiro

At the same time, Juventus are not losing sight of Raphael Guerreiro as they plan for the future on the left. The Portuguese full-back, born in 1993 and formerly of Borussia Dortmund, is approaching the end of his deal with Bayern Munich, with his contract set to expire in June. That contractual situation makes him an attractive potential opportunity for the Turin club, who could look to move if Kostic were to leave or if they decide to refresh their options on the left-hand side.
