Marco Palestra’s performances this season continue to draw the attention of Serie A’s biggest clubs, with Inter and Juventus both closely monitoring the young full-back’s progress.
The Atalanta-owned defender, currently on loan at Cagliari, has impressed with his consistency and maturity, rapidly emerging as one of the most promising prospects in Italian football. Scouts from several top-flight clubs, including those from abroad, have recently attended Cagliari’s matches to watch him in action — most notably during the game against Torino.
Atalanta’s Development Plan
Calciomercato report that Atalanta, however, have no intention of recalling Palestra midway through the campaign. The club believe his loan spell under Fabio Pisacane in Sardinia is the ideal environment for his continued development. Pisacane’s work with young players has earned widespread praise, and Atalanta are keen to see Palestra complete the season in Cagliari colours before reassessing his future in the summer.
Only an exceptional or unexpected offer could change that plan, but for now, the Bergamo side intend to bring him back next season to become part of their first-team setup.
