Juventus Sound Out Lewandowski: The Situation and Player’s Stance

Juventus have carried out an enquiry for Robert Lewandowski as they study options to strengthen their attack, but at this stage any deal for the Polish striker remains complicated. The Bianconeri’s forward line has been under scrutiny throughout a delicate season, with Dusan Vlahovic’s long injury lay-off heavily conditioning recent performances. In his absence, David and Openda have struggled to provide the same impact, and despite three months out, Vlahovic still has more goals than both.

Against this backdrop, the club are looking very carefully at their attacking plans, not only for the final stretch of the current campaign but especially with the summer window in mind. One of the names that has gained traction in recent hours, also fuelled by comments from David Trezeguet, is that of Lewandowski. As reported by Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have made an initial enquiry for the Barcelona striker to understand his situation and the potential feasibility of a move.

At this point, however, it cannot be described as a negotiation. There have been no formal talks or advanced contacts; Juve have simply tested the ground, asking for information on Lewandowski’s position and contractual status, with his deal at Barcelona running towards its conclusion. The move underlines the club’s intention to reinforce the forward department, both through possible departures – with Openda’s future under particular evaluation – and, crucially, through one or two high-profile arrivals to complement the potential renewal of Vlahovic.

The Lewandowski track, though, is anything but straightforward. The player has not yet made a decision on his immediate future, and that uncertainty is a key factor given his contract situation and the approaching end of the season. Juventus consider the option but are well aware that, for now, it remains very difficult to bring to fruition. Much will depend on the striker’s choice at the end of the campaign, while several other clubs are also showing interest in him.

Regardless of how the Lewandowski idea develops, Juventus’ strategic plan is already clear. The club intend to continue talks with Vlahovic and his entourage over a new deal and, at the same time, to add a top-level forward alongside the Serbian. Lewandowski fits that profile, but he is not the only name under consideration. Randal Kolo Muani, for example, remains a serious candidate for the summer, with the coming months set to be decisive as the Bianconeri look to reshape and upgrade their attacking unit.
