Lewandowski agent expected in Italy as Milan and Juventus weigh up move

Robert Lewandowski could be at the centre of one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer stories, with both Milan and Juventus reportedly interested in exploring a free-transfer deal for the Barcelona striker.

The Polish forward is said to be open to listening to offers from Italy, with his agent Pini Zahavi expected back in the country next week for talks with the two Serie A clubs. Juventus and Milan are both understood to be interested in understanding whether a deal is realistic, with Barcelona yet to reach full agreement over a contract extension beyond 30 June 2026.

Juventus and Milan preparing their case

Reports from Calciomercato suggest Zahavi will hold meetings to hear what both clubs are prepared to offer, with Juventus particularly keen to assess the possibility of bringing in a striker of Lewandowski’s experience, leadership and level of quality. For the Bianconeri, he would fit the profile of an ideal addition to Luciano Spalletti’s attack.

The economic side of the deal remains a major factor, however, especially given Lewandowski’s current salary at Barcelona, which is believed to be around €15 million net per year. Even so, discussions with Zahavi are expected to help clarify whether there is any genuine room for manoeuvre on a free transfer.

Juventus are also continuing to consider the situations of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract is due to expire and who may only be offered a lower renewal, and Jonathan David, who could potentially be involved in a broader operation with Paris Saint-Germain involving Randal Kolo Muani.

Milan also in the race

Milan are not monitoring the situation alone. The Rossoneri are also eager to understand what chance they have of landing the former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund striker, and Lewandowski is understood to be open to the idea of trying Serie A for the first time in his career.

For Massimiliano Allegri, Lewandowski would represent an ideal centre-forward profile as Milan look to become competitive again in Italy and in Europe. The club also have the advantage of strong relations with Zahavi, which could help when talks resume.

A further meeting with Milan is expected after the dinner already held between Zahavi and sporting director Igli Tare. Only then will it become clearer whether Lewandowski is willing to make financial concessions to facilitate a move.
