Juventus are reportedly keeping a close watch on one of Ligue 1’s most promising young defenders, with Samson Baidoo emerging as a name on the club’s radar.
The 21-year-old Austrian has impressed with Lens and is said to have attracted attention from across Europe, including Borussia Dortmund, Inter and Aston Villa. Juventus have also monitored him closely and are understood to have gathered positive reports after watching him live.
Strong links through N’Diaye
Tuttosport report how one factor that could help Juventus is their excellent relationship with agent Meissa N’Diaye, whose agency also represents Jeremie Boga and Khephren Thuram. The Bianconeri are already working on the final details of Boga’s permanent move, and that link could prove useful if they decide to move for Baidoo as well.
Boga’s stay in Turin looks increasingly likely, with Juventus said to be delighted by his impact and the value of the deal, which would reportedly cost just €4.8 million. The only remaining issues are contract details, with a three-year deal currently the most likely option, although a four-year agreement has not been ruled out.
Thuram renewal also on the agenda
The same channel is expected to be used for Khephren Thuram’s future. Juventus are already planning talks over a new contract for the French midfielder, with discussions likely to continue at the end of the season after initial contact earlier this month.
The club are reportedly open to extending his deal until 2030 and rewarding his development with a pay rise from around €2.4 million to €4 million per year. That would reflect his growing importance in the team and help fend off interest from the Premier League, where clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa are said to be monitoring him.
