Sorloth to Juventus: Personal Terms Agreed, Club-to-Club Deal Could Be Sealed This Week

Personal terms between Alexander Sorloth and Juventus are agreed, and the Turin club are now in intense negotiations with Atletico Madrid to get the deal over the line — potentially before the World Cup begins.

Spalletti Sold Him on the Project — Sorloth Didn’t Need Much Convincing

Tuttosport report that Luciano Spalletti spoke personally with the Norwegian striker, outlining his role, his responsibilities, and the wider project at Juventus. It took one call. Sorloth’s enthusiasm was immediate and unambiguous — he is keen to resolve his future before the World Cup so he can focus entirely on Norway’s campaign without distraction.

Over the weekend, Juventus and Sorloth’s camp reached a swift agreement: a contract until June 2029 with an option for a further season, at £4 million net per year. Sporting director Damien Comolli, acting on a direct mandate from John Elkann for decisiveness, moved quickly and secured a handshake — fending off interest from Premier League clubs, most notably Everton, in the process.

The Atletico Madrid Negotiation: €25–30 Million the Target

With the player’s agreement in place, attention now turns to Atletico Madrid. The Spanish club have previously held firm at €35 million and refused any loan arrangements — Simeone wanted a permanent deal, and in January had been reluctant to lose both Sorloth and Raspadori simultaneously.

That picture has since shifted. Juventus are now pushing hard, and this week’s negotiations will also encompass Nico González, whose potential cut-price permanent stay at Atletico has helped smooth discussions. Officially the two deals are separate, but in practice they are intertwined. Juventus are targeting a fee of between €25 and €30 million for each player, potentially with performance-related bonuses built in.

Spalletti has been given assurances on timing and believes this window is the moment to get Sorloth signed — not least to avoid a potential bidding war if the striker shines at the World Cup.

Norway on Standby

Sorloth has politely turned away all other approaches in recent days. He is waiting for Juventus, and only Juventus. There is even a small but real possibility that he may need to briefly leave Norway’s World Cup training camp in the coming days to complete his medical. That is not merely a hint — it speaks for itself.
