Liberali

Juventus Enter Race to Sign Liberali as €8m Bid Prepared

Juventus are the latest club to register their interest in Mattia Liberali, the teenage attacking midfielder who has caught the eye of several Serie A sides after a standout season in the Italian second tier.

The 17-year-old impressed throughout the campaign with Catanzaro in Serie B, and according to TMW, Juventus are now ready to put around €8 million on the table to bring him to Turin.

It will not be straightforward, however. Catanzaro are valuing the youngster at around €10 million and show no signs of accepting a reduced fee. That gap between the two parties could yet prove a stumbling block in negotiations.

There is also an added complication to any potential deal. Milan hold a clause that would entitle them to 50 per cent of the proceeds from any future sale, meaning the true cost of signing Liberali could prove considerably higher down the line — a factor any interested club will need to factor carefully into their calculations.

With multiple Italian clubs circling, Juventus will need to move decisively if they are to win the race for one of the most exciting young talents to emerge from Serie B this season.
