Tacchinardi: “I’m Curious to See Where Juventus Will End Up — This Is the Moment to Build the Squad”

Alessio Tacchinardi, the former Juventus midfielder turned pundit, gave his candid assessment of the club’s situation during the latest edition of TikiTacco, the weekly live show on IlBianconero. His verdict was a mixture of genuine curiosity, measured optimism, and a few pointed warnings.

The Summer Window Is What Matters

Tacchinardi wasted no time setting the tone: “I am curious to see what kind of squad Juventus will build. In terms of competitiveness, where will this team end up? Squads are made in this period. The only player I ever saw change a team at January was Edgar Davids — the winter window helps, but this is the real moment to build a squad.”

On Spalletti — Respect, but Questions Remain

When asked about the manager, Tacchinardi drew a pointed comparison with his former coach Marcello Lippi before offering a carefully balanced take on the current incumbent: “With Lippi I had an important relationship. Marcello was a great man, a winner. He gave so much. Spalletti? I can only speak well of him, but I am curious to see him this season. Previously, running during the season was not easy. You did not go into the Champions League because you did not deserve to go.”

The Attack: Sorloth Alone Is Not Enough

Tacchinardi was at his most direct when addressing the forward line — and his concerns about the Sorloth pursuit were pointed: “Sorloth was not a starter at Atletico Madrid. So I ask people to bear in mind that Juventus are playing in the Europa League and do not have the financial power to buy a genuine superstar. If Juventus’s attack next season is Sorloth and David, I would not be happy. If it were Sorloth and Kolo Muani, I would like that — but they should play with one striker: one plays, one is on the bench. The number ten position still needs to be filled properly.”

On Selling Bremer: Don’t Make the Same Mistake Twice

Tacchinardi’s final warning was perhaps the most significant of all, aimed squarely at the board: “If we have to sell strong players like Bremer, we must not make mistakes in who we bring in as replacements. If I am going to lose a fundamental piece like Gleison, I need to think carefully about how to replace him.”

With Tottenham circling and a €58 million release clause potentially making the decision out of Juventus’s hands, it is a message Comolli and Elkann would do well to heed.
