Juventus and Real Madrid: The Transfer Axis Heating Up — Mastantuono, Brahim Díaz and Gonzalo García All in Play

If Atletico Madrid represents one pillar of Juventus’s summer transfer strategy, Real Madrid is fast becoming the other. Tuttosport report that the Turin-Madrid axis is twofold: ongoing negotiations with Atletico over Sorloth and Nico González on one side, and increasingly active dialogue with Real Madrid on the other — a relationship that has intensified following the re-election of Florentino Pérez as club president, which has helped clarify Real’s operational strategy for the weeks ahead.

The Brahim Díaz Situation: Loan Without Buy Option on the Table

The first item on the agenda between the two clubs concerns Brahim Díaz. The Moroccan playmaker has not expressed any desire to leave Real Madrid and remains convinced he can carve out a key role next season — unless José Mourinho decides to push him out, particularly given the potential return of Nico Paz to the club.

Crucially, it is Real Madrid’s call entirely. Juventus have made clear they would be willing to take Díaz on a straight loan with no purchase option — an arrangement that would suit the bianconeri‘s budget whilst giving the player a platform to shine in Serie A. Nothing will become clearer until after the World Cup, when Díaz returns to Valdebebas and sits down with Mourinho directly.

The Mastantuono Proposal: A Tantalising Loan Offer

While those conversations develop, Real Madrid have raised a second possibility with Juventus: a loan for Franco Mastantuono, the highly rated Argentine attacker who risks finding himself on the periphery at the Bernabéu next season.

Real have no intention of selling him permanently — they believe strongly in his long-term potential — but recognise that a loan to a major European club where he can play regularly would serve his development far better than another season on the fringes. For Juventus, facing a near-total rebuild of their attacking options following the departures of Vlahović, the likely exits of David and Openda, and a probable consensual termination of Milik’s contract, the prospect of landing a player of Mastantuono’s calibre at loan cost is superficially very appealing.

However, Juventus’s board have chosen to take time before committing, with questions remaining over whether Mastantuono’s profile and style of play are compatible with Spalletti’s tactical demands. They are not the only club being considered: Real Madrid have already offered Mastantuono to several other Serie A clubs, including those without European football, where he would have a clearer path to regular minutes.

Gonzalo García: A Permanent Deal Modelled on the Nico Paz Template

In the background, discussions between Juventus and Real Madrid over striker Gonzalo García are also continuing, albeit at a slower pace. Unlike Mastantuono, this would not be a loan — instead, the structure being discussed mirrors the deal Real struck with Como for Nico Paz two summers ago: a permanent transfer with a guaranteed buy-back clause retained by Real Madrid.

The summer is still young, but the shape of Juventus’s rebuild is becoming clearer by the day — and the road to completing it increasingly runs through the Spanish capital.
