Bremer Wants to Stay at Juventus — and the Reports of His Departure Are Wide of the Mark

In an exclusive report, Gianluca Di Marzio has moved to correct what he describes as a significant misrepresentation of Gleison Bremer’s situation at Juventus. Despite weeks of speculation linking the Brazilian centre-back with a departure — fuelled in part by the existence of a €58 million release clause and interest from Tottenham Hotspur — the reality, according to Di Marzio’s sources, is considerably simpler: Bremer wants to stay, he is happy at Juventus, and he has given no indication whatsoever of wanting to leave.

The Chiellini Factor

At the heart of Bremer’s desire to remain in Turin is a deep personal admiration for Giorgio Chiellini — the club’s Director of Football Strategy and one of Juventus’s all-time great defenders. Bremer regards Chiellini as an idol, and is said to be inspired by the prospect of emulating his career path — playing out his prime years and ultimately finishing his career at the Allianz Stadium. For a centre-back who joined Juventus in 2022 and has settled deeply into life in Turin, the idea of following in Chiellini’s footsteps carries genuine emotional resonance.

No Request to Leave, No Offer That Has Tempted Him

Di Marzio is unambiguous on the facts: from Bremer’s side, there has been no signal of any kind — past or present — that he wishes to begin a new adventure away from Turin. The Brazilian is currently in the Brazil World Cup training camp, where he has reportedly been unsettled by the recent transfer speculation, which he regards as entirely detached from reality. No offer, from Tottenham or any other club, has reached a point where it has genuinely tested his resolve.

The caveat, as Di Marzio himself acknowledges, is the one that applies to all transfer situations: in the modern market, anything can always happen. Bremer’s €58 million release clause remains active until 10 August, and should Tottenham or another club trigger it formally, the situation would inevitably change. But the crucial point — easily lost in weeks of speculation — is that the impetus for such a move would need to come entirely from outside. As things stand today, Bremer himself is not pushing for the door.

For Giovanni Carnevali and Luciano Spalletti, that is the most important piece of transfer news of the weekend: the player many had assumed was leaving is, in fact, fully committed to staying. One fewer problem to solve — and one more reason for cautious optimism as the rebuild at the Allianz Stadium continues to take shape.
