Juventus kick off their Europa League campaign tonight looking to move past a bruising domestic result.
Following a painful extra-time defeat at Sassuolo, Spalletti turns his attention to Europe and a tie against Dutch surprise package NEC, managed by former Torino centre-back Alexander Schuurs’ old club and now led by Dick Schreuder. The head coach is expected to freshen things up from that Reggio Emilia loss, with several changes across the pitch and Woltemade handed the nod to lead the attack in place of Kolo Muani.
How Juventus line up
Spalletti switches to a back three for the occasion. Grabara starts in goal behind a defensive line of Gatti, Bremer and Lucumi. Kalulu and McKennie provide the width as wing-backs, with Douglas Luiz and Sarr forming the double pivot through the middle. Ahead of them, Conceiçao and Alajbegovic operate just off Woltemade, who leads the line as the focal point of the attack.
Juventus probable XI (3-4-2-1): Grabara; Gatti, Bremer, Lucumi; Kalulu, Douglas Luiz, Sarr, McKennie; Conceiçao, Alajbegovic; Woltemade. Coach: Spalletti.
How NEC line up
Schreuder’s side set up in a mirrored 3-4-2-1. Crettaz starts in goal, protected by a back three of Storm, Sandler and Kabar. Tahaui and Bischoff patrol the flanks, with Nejasmic and Geiger holding the centre of midfield. Chery and Lobreton support lone striker Sierhuis in attack.
