The story has come full circle. Juventus have officially confirmed the return of Norberto Neto, the Brazilian goalkeeper who previously represented the club between 2015 and 2017. After completing the required medical examination, Neto has signed a contract valid until 30 June 2027 — and is now ready to give Spalletti his backing following the season-ending anterior cruciate ligament rupture that took Kamil Grabara out of action at the Continassa training ground on 20 September.

From his first Juventus spell under Allegri — the two seasons behind Buffon that ended in bitterness — he went on to Valencia, where he performed at a high level in La Liga for three seasons. Then Barcelona, then Bournemouth’s debut Premier League campaign, then Arsenal, then Botafogo. Nearly a decade of professional football across four countries, three major European leagues, and one South American championship — all of it returning him, finally, to the starting point.
He will not be playing behind Gianluigi Buffon this time. He will be playing behind Guglielmo Vicario — who wears number 25, the same shirt number Neto wore in his original Juventus spell.
