Brozovic to Juventus? The Tempting Idea of a Serie A Return

Start

Two seasons have passed since Marcelo Brozovic bid farewell to San Siro, but the Croatian midfielder’s bond with Italy seems far from broken. After his lucrative move to Al-Nassr in 2023, the former Inter star could now be approaching a crossroads in his career — one that might even lead him back to Serie A.

Brozovic’s contract situation has caught the attention of several European clubs. His deal in Saudi Arabia is set to expire, and although initial talks over a renewal began some time ago, an agreement on salary remains elusive. This uncertainty has reignited speculation over a possible return to Europe, and Italy’s top division figures prominently among the potential destinations.

Juventus and the Spalletti Connection

Matteo Moretto reports January could prove decisive for Brozovic’s future. Without a new deal in place, the midfielder would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement for the summer or, in a more immediate scenario, leave Al-Nassr during the winter transfer window for a cut-price fee.

That’s where Juventus enter the conversation. The Bianconeri are actively searching for a deep-lying playmaker — a controlling midfielder capable of dictating the team’s tempo and adding order to a department that has often lacked clarity. On paper, Brozovic fits that profile perfectly.

There is, however, an additional reason the idea appeals so strongly to Juventus: Luciano Spalletti. During their time together at Inter, Spalletti was the man who redefined Brozovic’s career, shifting him from an attacking midfielder to a regista and unlocking his full potential. Under Spalletti’s guidance, Brozovic became one of the most complete playmakers in European football — intelligent, disciplined, and technically refined.

For that reason, the possibility of a reunion holds more than sentimental value. Spalletti has long admired Brozovic’s game intelligence and tactical precision, and their mutual understanding could make the Croatian an immediate solution for Juventus’ midfield needs.

A Move to Watch Closely

While nothing concrete has emerged yet, the elements are in place for what could become one of the most intriguing moves of the upcoming window. Brozovic’s experience, leadership, and familiarity with Serie A would make him an ideal addition, especially for a Juventus side in search of both balance and creativity in the centre of the pitch.

A transfer still sits firmly in the realm of possibility rather than certainty — but with Spalletti calling the shots in Turin, the idea of “Epic Brozo” donning black and white again feels far less far-fetched than it once did.
