Giorgio Chiellini spoke to Mediaset ahead of Juventus’ Coppa Italia clash with Udinese, highlighting the team’s mentality and addressing key topics such as Kenan Yildiz’s renewal and Dusan Vlahovic’s injury.
“This is a match that must be approached with responsibility and seriousness,” said the Juventus director. “The team that plays wants to win; there’s a real desire to do well and keep building momentum.”
On Kenan Yildiz’s Renewal
Chiellini praised the young forward, confirming the club’s long-term belief in his potential. “We’re not surprised by what he’s doing,” he stated. “There’s great respect and appreciation for him, and the will from both sides to continue together. He’s such a special player that it takes a bit more time, but he already has a long contract, and we’re sure he’ll be part of this team for many years.”
On Dusan Vlahovic and the Market
The Juventus legend also provided an update on Vlahovic, who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and shared his thoughts on the upcoming transfer window. “It changes things because he won’t be able to play for three months, or however long it takes,” Chiellini explained. “It’s an important absence, and we’re sorry. We wish him a speedy recovery. That said, it can also be an opportunity for others. We’ll talk with him, but his situation doesn’t change — we’ve shown him affection and appreciation. He just needs to focus on getting better.”
Regarding potential moves in the transfer market, Chiellini was cautious yet open: “If an opportunity arises, we’ll be ready to seize it. But the next month is so important that the market still feels very far away.”
