Christian Falk: “Juventus are interested in Gnabry”

Start

Serge Gnabry and Dusan Vlahovic have become central figures in the latest transfer discussions between Juventus and Bayern Munich. German journalist Christian Falk, close to the Bavarian club’s affairs, spoke exclusively to TuttoJuve.com to shed light on these developing situations.

Falk confirmed that Juventus hold genuine interest in Gnabry, who will be available on a free transfer next summer. “Yes, Juventus are interested in Gnabry,” he said. “The German winger is currently in good form and will be out of contract at the end of the season, making him an attractive option for many clubs. Liverpool are also following him closely. Gnabry would like to stay at Bayern, but the club are no longer willing to maintain his €17–19 million salary. Juventus aren’t likely to reach that level either, so whichever club is ready to make the bigger financial move will have the advantage.”

Asked how Gnabry might fit in Italy, Falk described a player who has matured considerably. “Gnabry has shown world-class qualities in recent years, though he’s also had less convincing spells in the Bundesliga. Lately, he’s become more consistent and reliable, contributing more defensively as well — something Vincent Kompany has worked on. At his current level, he could be a valuable addition to Serie A.”

On the other side of the rumour mill, Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. Falk noted that while talks are not ongoing, the Bavarian club have monitored the Serbian forward for some time. “The interest isn’t concrete yet, but Vlahovic remains an option if other plans fail. It’s unlikely that Nicolas Jackson’s loan will be extended, so Bayern are exploring attacking alternatives. Still, Vlahovic would likely be seen as a backup to Harry Kane rather than a starter. He earns a high salary and wants regular playing time, but unseating Kane would be very difficult.”

When asked about Leon Goretzka, Falk explained that the midfielder’s situation mirrors Gnabry’s. “Goretzka’s contract also expires next summer and his wages are similar. Bayern don’t plan to sell him in January but are hesitant to renew under the same financial terms. Interestingly, Juventus seem to have several Bayern players on their radar, including Josip Stanisic and Sacha Boey.”
