Douglas Luiz Transfer Market Heats Up as Agent Set to Visit England

The transfer market surrounding Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz is gaining momentum. IlBianconero report that In the coming days, his agent Kia Joorabchian is expected to travel to England to explore serious interest from several Premier League clubs. The player’s strong performances at Aston Villa two years ago, which included 10 goals and 10 assists helping the club secure Champions League qualification, remain fresh in memory across England.

Interested Premier League Clubs and Player’s Preferences

Early interest came from Fulham and Leeds United, but these destinations did not strongly appeal to Douglas Luiz. Everton also made an approach last week, which Luiz has not yet responded to decisively. More notably, Nottingham Forest have shown sustained interest and now appears poised to re-enter negotiations after a previous attempt stalled earlier in the year.

Manchester United engaged with Juventus about a potential swap involving Luiz and Antony, but those talks did not progress. Similarly, the idea of including Luiz in a deal for Jadon Sancho also failed to materialize.

The Nottingham Forest Factor

Forest’s interest stands to gain fresh momentum with new sporting director Edu Gaspar’s arrival. Gaspar, a known admirer of Luiz, previously attempted to sign him for Arsenal, but was unsuccessful. Now at Forest, he may play a key role in trying to recruit the Brazilian midfielder, especially since Juventus no longer consider Luiz central to coach Igor Tudor’s plans.

Juventus’ Position

Juventus are open to moving Douglas Luiz and aims to recoup most of the significant investment made last year, which included a combined valuation of around €50 million factoring in transfer fees and player exchanges. The preferred deal structure now being considered is a loan with an obligation to buy, triggered by specific conditions.

With Luiz not featuring prominently in Juventus’ future plans, a transfer seems imminent, but the details will be carefully negotiated to satisfy both player ambitions and Juventus’ financial requirements.
