Fabio Capello: “Juventus have something few others do”

Start

Former coach Fabio Capello has shared his assessment of the Serie A title race, expressing confidence that Juventus are firmly back in contention for the Scudetto.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Capello said: “I don’t see anyone capable of breaking away at the moment. Everyone picks up points and then slows down. Milan and Roma have been top, now it’s Inter, Napoli are always up there, and Juventus are seriously back in the mix. This inconsistency is mainly caused by the European competitions — teams can’t keep up such a high rhythm and each one drops off in turn.”

A favourable run of fixtures

Capello believes Juventus’ current momentum could continue thanks to a positive fixture list. “Their chase isn’t over. They have a schedule from which they should be able to take twelve points — at least they could,” he explained.

Spalletti’s formula and Juventus’ strengths

The former Juventus and Real Madrid manager praised Luciano Spalletti’s impact and the tactical adjustments that have rejuvenated the squad. “Spalletti’s recipe? He has found the right position for many of his players. He’s restored the determination and aggression that had been missing recently. And Juventus are one of the few Italian teams with wingers who can take on opponents and create superiority: Yildiz, Conceição, Zhegrova. That often puts their rivals in trouble.”

Capello concluded by backing Juventus to stay in the fight until the very end. “Juventus are there; the gap is recoverable, and there are still direct clashes to come,” he said, underlining his belief that the Scudetto race is far from decided.
