As the January transfer window approaches, Juventus are preparing to move on multiple fronts. From midfield reinforcements to possible exits, the Bianconeri are keeping all options open as they aim to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
After an encouraging December — with only one defeat, against Napoli, and four straight wins between Serie A and the Champions League — Juventus are entering a crucial phase. Their position in the table remains tight, and with Roma also in form, every point counts. But off the pitch, January will be just as decisive.
Midfield Plans: From Frattesi to Free Agents
IlBianconero report that Davide Frattesi remains one of the names linked most persistently with Juventus. Although Inter director Beppe Marotta recently noted that the player hasn’t pushed for an exit, the 24-year-old has struggled for regular playing time this season. He’s admired not just by Spalletti but across the Juventus management, who continue to monitor his situation closely.
A potential deal could involve young defender Muharemović, with Juventus reportedly willing to give up their 50% sell-on clause to facilitate an agreement. Still, Frattesi is not the only option under review. The club are also keeping tabs on several players set to become free agents in June, aiming to secure low-cost opportunities for the summer. Xaver Schlager of RB Leipzig is among those considered, while defender Marcos Senesi — also nearing the end of his contract — remains on their radar despite interest from clubs like Barcelona.
Goalkeeper Situation
With Mattia Perin increasingly likely to return to Genoa, Juventus are exploring options for his replacement. Michele Di Gregorio’s status as first-choice goalkeeper is not in doubt, but the club want to secure a reliable deputy before sanctioning Perin’s departure. Alessio Leali and Christos Mandas are two names under consideration, though other profiles are also being evaluated as part of the club’s ongoing scouting process.
João Mário’s Uncertain Future
Another matter on the agenda concerns João Mário, who has struggled for minutes since the start of the season. Even under Spalletti, the Portuguese full-back has found himself low in the pecking order and outside the regular rotation. Juventus are therefore open to letting him leave in January. Should that happen, the club may seek a new option on the left flank to complement Andrea Cambiaso and Cabal.
