The recent coaching change at Juventus has brought a palpable shift in energy and management style, according to reports from Tuttosport. The decision to dismiss Thiago Motta before the season’s end was partly due to his inability to improve his relationship with the squad, despite the management’s requests. Igor Tudor’s arrival has already marked a significant change in atmosphere at the club’s training ground, Continassa.
“At Continassa, we’ve gone from Thiago’s classical music to Tudor’s rock and roll. It took just one training session to make the troops understand that from now on, the ‘energy’ component will have a different weight,” Tuttosport reports. The newspaper adds, “Already yesterday, the players breathed new air. Tudor exuded energy and charged up the boys, spurring them on with shouts and encouragements that hadn’t reached their ears for months.”
The new coach also delivered an initial speech to the players, focusing on what it means to play for Juventus. This direct approach has apparently struck a chord with the squad. Tuttosport notes that the players were impressed by Tudor’s more direct and less formal manner, hinting at what might be expected when he makes his debut on the Juventus bench against Genoa at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday at 18:00.
The contrast with Motta’s management style is stark. “The relationship between Thiago Motta and the team had reached a bare minimum, and even in the last training sessions, Thiago had limited himself to observing, avoiding confrontations – the opposite of what Giuntoli was asking for,” the report states. Tudor’s approach seems to be addressing this issue head-on: “From Tudor’s first training session, the objective of shortening the distance with the players was evident. How? Even in small gestures, for example, high-fiving after a good play.”
