Gatti

Gatti-Allegri, Mutual Respect and Juventus’ Firm Stance: No Change in the Scenario

Start

Federico Gatti remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from surgery on a medial meniscus injury in his right knee. The Juventus defender is expected to need at least two more weeks before returning to competitive action, with his comeback likely targeted for the clash against Cagliari on 17 January or, more realistically, the home fixture against Napoli on 25 January.

The rehabilitation process is progressing well, and the player is still viewed as a valuable asset in the January transfer market. His injury, sustained during the Coppa Italia tie against Udinese, is not expected to affect his performances in the second half of the season — good news for Juventus, regardless of his future.

Tuttosport report that, for now, the situation remains unchanged: Gatti is not for sale. With Daniele Rugani also sidelined and few defensive options available, the club cannot afford to thin out the backline further. However, Milan continue to monitor the situation closely.

Gatti and Allegri: Mutual Admiration

Massimiliano Allegri has always held Gatti in high regard, and that feeling is mutual. The 26-year-old defender would welcome the opportunity to work again with his former coach in the future. Their positive relationship during Allegri’s time in Turin left a lasting impression — one that continues to resonate even after the coach’s departure.

This is why Damien Comolli is keeping an eye on Gatti’s situation. With Gleison Bremer’s return to fitness reducing Gatti’s guaranteed playing time, there is cautious interest from other clubs. Even so, Juventus are not open to his departure. Gatti’s focus remains firmly on his recovery and returning to the pitch as soon as possible.

Return Timelines for Cabal and Conceição

The same applies to other players managing minor issues, such as Juan Cabal and Chico Conceição. Both will be reassessed today to determine whether they can resume full training from Tuesday.

Cabal is overcoming a muscular problem that ruled him out of the Rome game. It’s seen as a precautionary measure for a player who already missed almost two months earlier in the season after a setback in the Villarreal match. Having spent most of last year injured, Juventus will handle his recovery carefully, avoiding any unnecessary risks. His goal is to feature against Lecce on 3 January.

No Risks Taken for Conceição

Conceição was also left out of the Pisa trip after reporting muscular discomfort. The coaching staff decided against taking any chances, keeping the Portuguese winger in Turin for individual work.

Preparations for the Lecce game are already under way, with the squad set to train at the Continassa even on 1 January. Juventus’ New Year will be anything but quiet — a clear signal from the management that focus and intensity must not drop as the season builds momentum.
