Gazzetta: Tudor on the Brink – The Candidates to Replace the Juventus Coach

Igor Tudor will remain in charge of Juventus for now, leading the team in their upcoming fixtures against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu and Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. Despite no immediate upheaval following the defeat to Como, the loss has increased tension within the club and extended the winless run to six matches.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report (as quoted by ilbianconero)  that the Croatian coach faces a critical crossroads. To keep his job, he must quickly turn the team’s fortunes around. The clash with Real Madrid is unlikely to be decisive, but what follows could be.

If Juventus were to fall again, particularly against Lazio, a major tactical overhaul could be on the horizon — or something more drastic, with Tudor’s position hanging by a thread.

Spalletti Leads the Shortlist

According to reports, the club has already started assessing alternative options should a change become unavoidable. Luciano Spalletti is believed to be the leading candidate. The former Napoli coach, admired for both his tactical acumen and man-management skills, is said to be open to the opportunity. Unlike past offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, he would reportedly not turn down Juventus.

Mancini Waiting in the Wings

Another possible contender is Roberto Mancini. The ex-Italy manager recently pulled back from negotiations with Nottingham Forest due to dissatisfaction with their proposal. His real ambition, the report suggests, lies elsewhere: he hopes for a call from Turin, especially as Juventus had already considered him during their previous managerial search before appointing Thiago Motta.

Other Options on the Table

Raffaele Palladino also features among the potential names. The young coach, currently without a team, stands out as a more affordable option and shares a strong working relationship with sporting director Modesto from their time together at Monza.

Finally, an international profile is also under consideration. Edin Terzić, formerly of Borussia Dortmund and a Champions League finalist, has been linked as an intriguing option for Juventus executives. However, a return of Thiago Motta seems very unlikely at this stage.

With crucial matches ahead and mounting pressure in Turin, Tudor’s future will likely be determined within days — and the list of potential successors is already taking shape.
