Juventus suffered their first defeat in the League Phase of the Champions League, falling away to Real Madrid. It marked the Bianconeri’s seventh consecutive match without a win, leaving their hopes of qualification hanging by a thread with just two points from their opening three games.
Speaking from the CBS studio after the match at the Bernabeu, former Juventus forward Thierry Henry delivered a frank assessment of Igor Tudor’s side, who have not won since 13 September, when they edged Inter 4–3 in Turin.
Henry did not mince his words when addressing the team’s current struggles.
“Without an identity or philosophy, it’s hard to fight. I see a team that doesn’t fight, without identity or philosophy,” he said. “When you think of Juve, you think of a team that always fights, one that has a clear identity and purpose. When you have a philosophy, everything changes. I understand that Tudor arrived recently and there’s a new president, so things can still evolve.”
Henry also reflected on the modern pressure surrounding top-level football.
“Nowadays, people don’t have time — nobody waits for anyone. The club matters most; you have to move and get what you want, that’s the key point. It’s right to support your team, but honestly, it’s not pleasant to watch Juventus play like this. It’s very difficult to see them like this.”
