How Juventus Could Evolve Through Free Transfers

Juventus are looking ahead to the summer transfer window with a clear strategy: strengthen the squad by targeting players available on free transfers. After securing contract renewals for Kenan Yildiz and Weston McKennie, the club are now intensifying discussions over Luciano Spalletti’s new deal while also scouting potential recruits whose contracts expire in June.

Reinforcing the Defence

One of the leading names on Juventus’ list is Marcos Senesi. The Argentine defender has been monitored for months, with the Bianconeri ramping up contacts during and after the winter window. Competition for his signature remains strong, particularly from Barcelona, but Juventus have already outlined their proposal in hopes of adding depth to their defensive rotation.

Midfield Targets: Kessié and Bernardo Silva

In midfield, Juventus are closely following Franck Kessié. The Ivorian midfielder, formerly of Atalanta and Milan, is approaching the end of his contract at Al-Ahli and has expressed a desire to return to Europe. Talks with his entourage have already taken place, and a move could progress if Juventus decide to integrate an experienced figure into the middle of the park—a department that has struggled with consistency in recent seasons.

A more ambitious profile is Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese playmaker is expected to leave Manchester City this summer, and Juventus have held preliminary conversations with his agent, Jorge Mendes. However, his salary—around €10 million per year—represents a major obstacle. Meanwhile, links to other midfield options such as Leon Goretzka and Nicolas Schlager have cooled following initial contact earlier this year.

Wing Options and Full-Back Reinforcements

Juventus are also exploring opportunities on the flanks. Zeki Çelik, who has impressed under Gian Piero Gasperini at Roma, is on the Bianconeri’s radar as his contract runs down. Inter are also showing interest, meaning competition is expected.

Another possible signing is Leonardo Spinazzola, with reports suggesting Juventus have approached the Napoli full-back about a return to Turin, offering a two-year contract. The experienced Italian could add depth and familiarity to the squad, building on his past spell with the club.
