“Juventus Wanted Me, But I Couldn’t Betray My Story”
Buongiorno confirmed that Juventus made a serious attempt to sign him before Napoli entered the picture. “It was real interest: they approached me before Napoli showed their desire to bring me here. I spoke with them, but I also spoke, often, with myself. I couldn’t betray my story, I was born and raised granata,” he explained, referring to his deep roots with Torino, Juventus’s city rivals.
