“I Will Be Even More Fierce”: Bremer’s Determined Comeback and Hopes for Vlahovic to Stay at Juventus

Fresh from his return to action in Juventus’s friendly against Reggiana, Gleison Bremer spoke candidly from the club’s training camp in Herzogenaurach about his recovery, the team’s prospects, and hopes for the future.

Reflecting on his long injury layoff, Bremer revealed the toughest moment:

“The worst part was at the beginning when the surgeon told me I would have to be out for nine months, not the usual six or seven months for an ACL injury. Mine was unfortunately not a normal tear, but now I’m feeling good and looking ahead. I will get back to my best level.”

Describing the sensation of finally playing again after months of hard work, he said:

“It was a beautiful feeling after so many months of sacrifice. I felt comfortable on the pitch. Of course, I’m still lacking a bit physically, but I’m on the right path. At the first tackles, I felt a bit scared; I guess that’s normal. Then it all became automatic. Now my goal is to play the next three friendlies to reach my best condition.”

Bremer also promised a stronger version of himself:

“Yes, because when you’re out so long, you start to see things differently, not just as a player. The new Bremer will be more fierce and will always give 100 percent on the pitch.”

He expressed gratitude to those who supported him:

“I have to thank all of Juventus, the medical staff, my personal physiotherapist, my wife and my family. Those months were tough mentally. I also spoke a lot with Chiellini, who had a similar injury a few years ago. I always talked to Giorgio, even when he wasn’t a club official yet, and having him close now is important not just for me but for the whole team.”

On what he observed from the sidelines last season, Bremer commented:

“From the outside, I saw a lack of leaders after so many changes, and with my injury we lost more certainty. Those were difficult moments, but the team has grown. These experiences make you better. This year will be different, the group is mentally strong, and we’ll see what the market brings in the coming weeks. We’re building a solid Juventus project, and we must return to fighting to win.”

Asked if three reinforcements are enough for Juventus, he said:

“Yes, but it depends who you buy. We have a good squad, and if strong players arrive, we can compete with the top teams.”

On the Serie A title race, Bremer believes:

“It will be a fight between the usual four. Napoli starts as favourites because they won last season and strengthened in the market. Inter remains a very good team. Then there’s Milan, with Allegri and only the league to focus on. And of course, Juventus too.”

Bremer is optimistic about the team’s progress:

“I’m convinced we’ll be competing at the top again soon. We all believe that. I’ll tell you why: Yildiz is a different player from last year; he has improved a lot and is a different kind of player. Gatti has become a leader. The foundations are good. Is Yildiz a future Brazilian international? His dribbling and moves are like a Brazilian player’s. Yes, Kenan is a bit like our Lamine Yamal. All of us in the team have to help him express himself at his best.”

On his relationship with Tudor, Bremer said:

“We’re talking about a coach who wore the Juventus jersey and knows what it means to play here. He’s giving me peace of mind and tells me not to push more than necessary because I will get back to my level. Tudor’s style is similar to Gasperini and Juric, whom I’ve worked with before, so I know I’m suited to his kind of football. At Juventus, you have to win, and we want to triumph again. As always, evaluations come at the end.”

Regarding Douglas Luiz, he noted:

“Douglas made his choice. The important thing is that he’s back and has apologised to the club, the coach, and us teammates. Now he’s here and working well.”

On Vlahovic, Bremer expressed hope:

“Dusan is a positive guy and always sets very high goals. Honestly, I hope in the end Vlahovic stays to help us. These are personal choices. The decision will be his; I only hope it’s the best for Juventus and for him.”

About new signings David and Kolo Muani, he said:

“Jonathan made a good impression on me; he’s a technical forward, and I’m sure he’ll help us a lot. When Kolo Muani arrived in January, I was injured. He’s a good guy and strong. We all hope he comes back to Juventus.”

When asked about the toughest striker he has faced, Bremer named:

“I’ve faced many good strikers in Serie A and the Champions League, but the toughest is Osimhen.”

On their Champions League ambitions, he was clear:

“We have to do better than last year and go as far as possible.”

Finally, on the prospect of playing for Brazil under Carlo Ancelotti, Bremer expressed determination:

“He’s an Italian coach who knows Serie A. Returning to the Seleção will be the result of my growth with Juventus. Playing in the World Cup in the USA with Brazil is not a dream; it’s a goal.”
