“I’m Adzic”: Juventus’ Future Plan for the Montenegrin Talent

Start
A year after his first pre-season, Vasilije Adzic is back with Juventus in Germany. The club’s plan for his development has become clear, and Adzic himself has shown the quiet confidence of a player aware of his own promise. When asked about his inspirations at the Herzogenaurach training camp, his response was simple and direct: “I’m Adzic.” There was no bravado—just pure self-certainty. From Montenegro to Turin, Adzic arrived full of ambition and the raw talent to succeed at one of Europe’s top clubs.

Looking Back: Adzic’s First Year with Juventus

Twelve months on, Adzic remains with the Juventus first team for their summer training retreat. He has built relationships with senior players like Kostic and Vlahovic, who have mentored him both on and off the field. Adzic was spotted interacting with fans alongside Kostic outside the Adidas headquarters, but when assessed by his numbers on the pitch, the past season felt underwhelming.

The statistics reveal Adzic made 19 appearances and played 821 minutes, with 744 minutes across 10 fixtures for Juventus Next Gen in Serie C. For a player of his abilities, exposure to a higher level of competition is essential, and this limited first-team experience was not enough for his continued development.

Talent Evident, Space Limited

Physical challenges, adjusting to Italian football, and stiff competition in the Juventus midfield restricted his opportunities. Nevertheless, every time Adzic had the ball, he displayed remarkable qualities: vision, graceful movement, and a strong physical presence. His performances for the Juventus Under 23 side included 4 goals in 10 matches, signalling clear potential despite limited senior action.

The Path Forward: Juventus’ Plan for Adzic

According to IlBianconero, Juventus’ belief in Adzic is undiminished. The current strategy is to have him complete pre-season training with the first team before sending him out on a loan. Interest from Serie B and Serie A clubs has been strong, but Juventus’ preference is for Adzic to play in Italy’s top flight. The goal is for him to test himself against the country’s best players, with the club closely monitoring his progress to evaluate whether his talent can translate into consistent, high-level performances.
