Giorgio Chiellini, speaking to DAZN, shared his thoughts ahead of Fiorentina vs Juventus, reflecting on his past with both clubs, Italy coach Luciano Spalletti, and the future of key Juventus talents Kenan Yildiz and Dusan Vlahovic.
On the match, Chiellini admitted it feels special to experience it from a different perspective. “It’s a different experience to live it now,” he said. “I’ve played for both teams, and I even scored when I was at Fiorentina. I know what this game means for Florence, for Fiorentina, and for their fans. And I also know what it means for Juventus. It’s a beautiful and difficult match.”
Turning his attention to Italy boss Luciano Spalletti, Chiellini showed great respect for the manager’s work. “We expect a lot from him for what he’s done with his previous teams. He’s starting to leave even more of his own mark, and we’re happy about that. But in the end, it’s always the pitch that speaks. Fiorentina have changed coach, and I know what Vanoli can bring to the team. We’re here to get a result.”
Asked about the contract situations of Kenan Yildiz and Dusan Vlahovic, Chiellini sounded calm and optimistic. “There’s been a lot of talk about it. Kenan still has three and a half years left on his contract—we’re all happy, and there’s a desire to continue together. With Dusan, we’ll see later on. They’re both important players, and we expect a lot from them this season.”
