Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United remains in serious doubt after the winger was excluded from the squad’s preseason tours to Sweden and the United States. Sancho has been left training separately at United’s Carrington facilities, working with a group of outcasts as he waits for a move away from Old Trafford.
Juventus have emerged as the main contender to sign the 25-year-old English winger this summer. Sancho has repeatedly been linked to Turin, with both player and club showing mutual interest for several transfer windows. Negotiations advanced recently, with the player’s agent visiting Italy to discuss terms, and an agreement between Sancho and Juventus has reportedly been in place for weeks.
However, the transfer is not yet finalized. IlBianconero report how Juventus must first sell one of their own wingers to raise the necessary funds and keep their squad balanced. Timothy Weah is the primary candidate for departure, with Marseille reportedly ready to take him on loan with an obligation to buy. In addition, other Juventus wingers such as Nico Gonzalez have attracted interest, and further sales would pave the way to complete the Sancho deal.
While Juventus works through these departures, Sancho continues to wait—his determination to avoid another late-window switch is clear, and he has made joining Juventus his priority. The player is even willing to halve his wages to make the transfer possible, underlining his strong desire to leave the Premier League, where he has struggled to reproduce his Bundesliga form.
Yet, the situation remains fluid. Nottingham Forest has registered interest in Sancho, seeing him as a replacement for the departing Elanga, but the England international would prefer Juventus over another Premier League move. Meanwhile, Manchester United, eager to offload Sancho and his hefty contract, are holding out for a fee in the region of £25 million. Juventus is reluctant to spend much more than £20 million and is banking on United’s urgency to force a compromise.
