Jonathan David’s Future: Juventus Stand Firm Amid Milan Rumours

Start

Speculation continues to swirl around Jonathan David’s future, with growing reports linking the Canadian striker to a possible move away from Juventus in January. The story between David and the Bianconeri has yet to truly take off. His limited minutes and below-par performances have led to internal reflection about his adaptation and role under the club’s current system.

IlBianconero report how, despite arriving with high expectations last summer, David has struggled to make an impact, prompting whispers of potential suitors. Among the latest rumours, Milan have reportedly explored the possibility of signing the former Lille forward, though at present there is no indication of concrete negotiations. The same applies to any interest from abroad, with no real moves unfolding so far.

Juventus’ Position on David

Juventus, however, remain committed to the player. Signed in June as the first major acquisition under the Cristiano Giuntoli–Thierry Comolli era, David represents a long-term investment. The club backed him with a significant salary package reportedly worth around six million euros per season, making him one of the highest-paid members of the squad.

Given that context, it seems highly unlikely that Juventus will consider selling him so soon. No signals have emerged from the club suggesting a willingness to entertain offers during the January transfer window. Instead, the focus in Turin is on helping David overcome his initial difficulties and rediscover the form that made him one of Ligue 1’s standout attackers.

What Could Change by January

For now, David’s situation is purely a footballing matter rather than a transfer one. However, with more than a month before the winter market opens, circumstances can change. A continued lack of playing time might alter the dynamics, especially if the forward remains a secondary option. Even then, a departure would likely require an explicit request from the player himself, eager for more regular football elsewhere.

Any such scenario could also hinge on the future of Dušan Vlahović. Should the Serbian’s situation shift, it could directly influence David’s standing within the squad. At present, though, Juventus have no intention of parting ways with the Canadian, and there have been no indications from his entourage suggesting discontent or a desire to move on.
