Juventus and Crystal Palace in Exploratory Talks for Kelly and Djalò

Start

Juventus are actively working on several fronts in the transfer market as the club prepares for the upcoming season. Alongside the expected announcement of head coach Igor Tudor’s contract extension through 2027, attention is turning to potential player movements, particularly in defence.

Tuttosport report (as quoted by IlBianconero) how, In recent days, Juventus and Crystal Palace have engaged in preliminary discussions regarding defenders Lloyd Kelly and Tiago Djalò. Both players have experienced challenging seasons, albeit for different reasons, and their futures in Turin are now under review.

Kelly, who arrived at Juventus from Newcastle United on loan in January and was permanently signed just weeks ago, has struggled to fully adapt to Serie A. Despite the club’s recent investment, Juventus is not ruling out a possible transfer if a suitable offer arrives. Crystal Palace, monitoring the situation closely, could consider bringing the versatile defender back to the Premier League, where he previously played for Bournemouth and Newcastle. Juventus would likely seek a fee higher than the €17.5 million paid to secure Kelly’s services, though a loan move is also a possibility.

Tiago Djalò, meanwhile, spent last season on loan at Porto but failed to secure a regular starting spot. With his return to Juventus imminent and only one year left on his contract, the club is keen to find a new destination for the Portuguese centre-back before pre-season begins. Crystal Palace has shown long-standing interest in Djalò, who brings experience from both the Champions League and Europa League. His limited impact at Porto and lack of inclusion in Juventus’s Club World Cup squad further suggest that a transfer is likely this summer.
