Juventus and Giuntoli Part Ways: Comolli Set to Lead New Era

Juventus are on the verge of announcing significant changes within its management structure. Tuttosport report (as quoted by IlBianconero) how, after weeks of speculation, the departure of Cristiano Giuntoli as technical director is now imminent, ending his tenure after less than two years at the club. French executive Damien Comolli, formerly of Toulouse, is poised to take over as the new head of the technical and sporting area, a decision backed by John Elkann as part of a broader strategy to revitalize the club.

Comolli has already resigned from his position at Toulouse, signalling his imminent arrival in Turin. The transition comes at a crucial time, with Juventus preparing to resume training under coach Igor Tudor as they gear up for the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States.

The official announcement of Comolli’s appointment will clarify the club’s internal hierarchy and provide clear points of reference for both the media and the football market. Meanwhile, Giorgio Chiellini is expected to assume a more prominent role in Juventus’ sporting management, with his exact responsibilities to be defined in the coming days.

Giuntoli, for his part, is set to leave the club amicably. Despite disappointment over the premature end to his project, he has accepted the ownership’s decision and is finalizing a mutual contract termination, which was originally set to run until 2027. New professional opportunities await him, with interest from Premier League clubs and teams in the Middle East.

Giuntoli’s exit is not the only major change in Turin. Francesco Calvo, head of marketing and institutional relations, is also preparing to step down. He will begin a new chapter at Aston Villa in the Premier League from mid-July, taking on an even more strategic role.
