Andrea Cambiaso, Juventus’ versatile full-back, shared his thoughts following the team’s 2-0 victory over Verona. The win has reignited discussions about Juventus’ Scudetto ambitions and highlighted the team’s resilience in bouncing back from recent setbacks.

When asked about Juventus’ title chances, Cambiaso expressed cautious optimism. “Yes, we’re fourth now, and we’ve done our job today,” he said. The defender acknowledged the difficulty of the match against Verona, praising his team’s performance. “It was a challenging game because teams like Verona are tough to face. We had a good first half, except maybe the first 5 minutes when we conceded two shots on goal, but overall, it was a deserved victory.”

Cambiaso didn’t shy away from addressing Juventus’ recent Coppa Italia elimination, describing it as a “brutta figura” (poor showing). He stated, “We are the first ones responsible. We go on the pitch, we took our responsibility because we put in a poor performance. It’s not good for Juventus, for us, it was a bad thing. Today we did our duty.”

The young defender also opened up about his recent physical struggles. “Physically, I’m feeling better now. I’ve been going through a complicated period since December 7th due to an ankle problem,” Cambiaso revealed. He admitted that the issue had been underestimated by everyone, including himself, and had affected his performance. However, he expressed hope for continued improvement, stating, “Today, for the first time, I felt better, and I hope to continue like this.”

Cambiaso sees a silver lining in the team’s midweek disappointment, noting that it provides time for physical and mental recovery before their next challenge. “The only positive thing about Wednesday’s bad event is that we have time to recover physically and mentally and think about Atalanta, which will be a very difficult match,” he said.

Reflecting on the unique atmosphere at Juventus, Cambiaso emphasized the responsibility and pressure that come with playing for such a prestigious club. “Playing for Juventus brings great responsibility and pressure. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be playing here,” he explained. “We’re all guys who have earned the right to play here, in the most successful and titled club in Italy.”

Despite the surreal atmosphere at the stadium, Cambiaso praised his team’s focus and determination. “It was surreal, but we were very good, concentrated, always attacking, looking for the goal. We must congratulate ourselves because it wasn’t easy,” he concluded.
