Juventus Assess Move for Xaver Schlager as Summer Options Take Shape

Start

Juventus are evaluating the possibility of signing Xaver Schlager from RB Leipzig as part of their midfield plans for next season. The Austrian international, whose contract expires in June, has emerged as one of the players being monitored by the Bianconeri as they prepare for potential summer reinforcements.

IlBianconero report that the club’s management are working across multiple fronts, considering both immediate solutions for January and long-term recruits who could arrive on a free transfer. Alongside defender Marcos Senesi, Schlager is among the profiles that have attracted interest from Juventus, with the club maintaining contact with the player’s representatives in recent weeks to gather information on his status and the level of competition for his signature.

Schlager, born in 1997, has impressed executives at Continassa with his blend of quality, tactical awareness, and top-level experience. However, unlike in Senesi’s case, Juventus have not yet decided whether to move decisively for the Leipzig midfielder. Internal discussions are ongoing, and a final decision on whether to submit a contract proposal is expected in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer has made it clear that Schlager will remain with the club until the end of the season, ruling out a January departure. Both parties are expected to clarify the player’s future before the campaign concludes, leaving Juventus and other interested clubs waiting for further developments.
