Juventus Bench in Turmoil: Tudor Hopes to Stay, Gasperini Emerges as Tempting Option

Juventus are experiencing a period of intense uncertainty as the club faces crucial decisions about its future leadership, both on and off the pitch. With sweeping changes underway in the club’s structure, the spotlight is firmly on who will take charge as head coach for the 2025-26 season.

Tudor’s Position and Unresolved Contracts

Calciomercato report how, at present, Igor Tudor remains at the helm after guiding Juventus to Champions League qualification, which triggered an automatic contract renewal until June 2026. Tudor is set to lead the team during the upcoming Club World Cup, despite recent public doubts about his future. His agent has since reassured that Tudor will indeed coach Juventus at the tournament. However, the club still has Thiago Motta on its payroll, who was dismissed in March but remains under contract until 2027. Juventus is hoping Motta finds another club soon to resolve his costly contract situation.

Conte and Inzaghi Rumors Fade

The club’s initial plan to bring back Antonio Conte has collapsed, as Conte has decided to continue his project at Napoli. Meanwhile, rumours of Simone Inzaghi moving to Turin have surfaced, but the most likely scenario for now remains Tudor’s continued tenure, at least through the summer’s major competitions.

The Gasperini Temptation

Despite Tudor’s current position, Juventus is keeping its options open. The name gaining traction in recent hours is Gian Piero Gasperini, who is preparing to leave Atalanta after a transformative nine-year spell. Gasperini is currently in advanced talks with Roma, having met with the club’s leadership to discuss a potential move. While the meeting was positive, no final agreement has been reached, and Gasperini has taken 48 hours to consider his options.

This window has given Juventus an opportunity to make their interest known. Although Gasperini’s move to Roma seems likely, Juventus’s intervention could change the landscape, especially since Gasperini has deep roots at Juventus, having worked in the club’s youth sector for nearly a decade and played for the team early in his career.
