Juventus Consider Nico Gonzalez Sale to Make Room for Sancho-Conceicao Duo

Start

Nico Gonzalez’s future at Juventus is increasingly uncertain as the club weighs significant changes to its attacking lineup. After just one season in Turin, the Argentine forward—once a highly anticipated signing—now finds himself on the transfer list as Juventus look to reshape their squad and potentially make space for both Jadon Sancho and Francisco Conceicao.

IlBianconero report how Gonzalez, who joined from Fiorentina for a fee that could reach €33 million, has struggled to meet expectations, recording five goals and four assists in 35 appearances. His adaptation was hampered by positional instability and minor injuries, and he has not established himself as a key player under coach Igor Tudor. As a result, Juventus are now open to offers in the €26–27 million range and do not consider him irreplaceable.

The club’s transfer strategy is directly linked to ongoing negotiations for Sancho and Conceicao. Juventus are making progress in talks for both players, but their arrivals would likely push Gonzalez out of the squad, as the club does not envision all three coexisting in the same rotation. The prospect of signing both Sancho and Conceicao has accelerated Juventus’ willingness to part ways with Gonzalez.

Interest in Gonzalez is growing across Europe. Lazio’s Maurizio Sarri is an admirer, though the club faces a transfer ban. In the Premier League, Brentford and West Ham have made initial inquiries, while Tottenham and Brighton had previously shown interest. There is also reported interest from Marseille, where coach Roberto De Zerbi sees Gonzalez as a potential fit. Although Gonzalez has expressed a desire to play for River Plate in the future, a return to Argentina is not imminent given his age and current market value.

Juventus are also exploring the possibility of including Gonzalez in a swap deal, particularly in negotiations with Atalanta for midfielder Ederson. This approach could help reduce costs and facilitate other moves in the market.
