Juventus End Pursuit of Hancko: Defender Set for New Chapter Away from Turin

Start

For months, David Hancko seemed destined to join Juventus. The Slovak defender, a standout at Feyenoord, was at the top of the club’s wish list, especially as the Bianconeri prepared for a new era under Thiago Motta. Negotiations between Juventus and Feyenoord were already advanced during the winter transfer window, but the Dutch club’s firm stance made a deal impossible at the time.

Talks between the clubs in December and January were serious, yet Feyenoord refused to part with one of their key players mid-season. Hopes were raised that the deal could be revived in the summer, with Juventus maintaining close contact with Hancko’s entourage and even reaching preliminary agreements on personal terms. However, a significant shift occurred behind the scenes. The arrival of Damien Comolli as the new sporting director, replacing Cristiano Giuntoli, led to a change in transfer strategy.

IlBianconero report that Hancko’s representatives were informed weeks ago that Juventus would no longer pursue the defender. With the Italian giants stepping back, Hancko and his team began exploring other opportunities, ultimately accepting a lucrative offer from Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
