Juventus, Gatti a Doubt for Bodø/Glimt: Latest Updates on His Fitness

Start

Federico Gatti could miss Juventus’ upcoming clash with Bodø/Glimt after several days struggling with flu and a high fever. IlBianconero report that the defender, who was only on the bench against Fiorentina, is reportedly still weakened by illness and skipped training yesterday as he continues to recover. Despite his condition, Gatti is determined to rally and be available for the team, especially during such a critical moment in their season.

Decision Expected This Morning

A final decision on Gatti’s availability is expected this morning following medical tests and discussions with the club’s staff. Everything depends on whether his fever has subsided and how he feels physically. Juventus and Luciano Spalletti are wary of the risks involved in taking the 26-year-old defender to the freezing conditions of Bodø if he is not fully fit.

The Bianconeri will hold their final training session at the Continassa training centre at 10:30 a.m. before departing for Norway, and early indications about Gatti’s condition are expected to emerge during that session.

Kelly or Cabal Ready to Step In

Should Gatti fail to recover in time, Spalletti is likely to call on either Lloyd Kelly or Juan Cabal to take his place. Kelly returned to the starting line-up against Fiorentina after recovering from a muscle injury sustained before the international break. Although still short of peak fitness, the Englishman showed positive signs of progress.

Cabal, meanwhile, made his first appearance at the Franchi since 1 October, when he picked up an injury during a Champions League clash with Villarreal. Both defenders are available and in contention to feature, depending on Gatti’s final assessment later today.
