Juventus Go All-In for Osimhen: The Strategy Behind the Big Move

As Juventus prepare for their high-profile Club World Cup clash against Real Madrid, the club is also making headlines off the pitch with an aggressive push to sign Victor Osimhen. Sky Sport Italia report (as quoted by IlBianconero) that the Nigerian striker, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, is now a top priority for the Bianconeri as the summer transfer market officially opens.

Juventus Intensify Their Pursuit

Over the weekend, Juventus ramped up their efforts to secure Osimhen, intensifying contact with his representatives. The club’s strategy is clear: first, secure the striker’s approval, then negotiate personal terms, and finally approach Napoli to strike a deal. Osimhen has already shown openness to joining Juventus, having indicated in previous talks that he would welcome a move to Turin.

The Napoli Obstacle

Signing Osimhen is far from straightforward. His contract with Napoli includes a €75 million release clause, but crucially, this clause is only valid for clubs outside Italy. For Juventus, any deal will require direct negotiations with Napoli, who are expected to demand at least €80 million to sell to a direct Serie A rival. Napoli’s reluctance to strengthen a domestic competitor adds another layer of complexity to the deal.

Competition and Osimhen’s Preference

Osimhen has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Premier League sides and Saudi club Al Hilal, who reportedly offered a massive salary package. However, Osimhen turned down the Saudi offer, making it clear he wants to continue his career in Europe. Galatasaray, where he starred last season, would like to keep him, but Juventus are currently leading the charge for his signature.

The Vlahovic Factor

A key part of Juventus’ plan involves the future of Dusan Vlahovic. The club is looking to offload the Serbian forward to help finance the Osimhen deal and free up space in the wage bill. Vlahovic, who has just one year left on his contract, is expected to bring in a significant transfer fee if he departs this summer.
