“Juventus Have Already Made Contact”: Arnau Martinez Targeted as Weah’s Replacement

Start

Juventus have reportedly initiated talks with the entourage of Arnau Martinez, the promising right-back from Girona, as they look to fill the gap left by Timothy Weah’s imminent departure to Marseille. Tuttosport report (as quoted by ilbianconero) how this development marks Martinez as a key name on Juventus’s radar for the right flank, a position the club is keen to reinforce.

Arnau Martinez has been on Juventus’s watchlist for several months. Last year, as Juventus began to investigate Girona’s defensive talents, Miguel Gutierrez was the primary focus, now close to a move to Napoli. However, Martinez, who operates on the opposite flank, has equally caught the interest of the Bianconeri. Over the past two seasons, he has shown clear growth, establishing himself as a regular starter for Girona’s first team, including appearances in the Champions League. Additionally, his involvement with Spain’s youth national teams up to the Under-21 level underlines his potential.

One attractive factor for Juventus and other clubs is Martinez’s contract, which runs until 2027. This makes him a valuable asset, with an expected transfer fee in the range of €10-12 million. Such value has drawn attention from clubs beyond Italy, including English Premier League sides West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Recent movements have confirmed Juventus’s serious interest, as agents close to Martinez’s family have been seen engaging in discussions with representatives from both Juventus and AC Milan. The coming days promise to be crucial for Juventus, who aim to avoid a bidding war and secure the player under favourable terms.

While Martinez remains the priority, Juventus continue to explore alternatives to strengthen their right side. These options include Nahuel Molina, who may be available from Atletico Madrid, and Atalanta’s costly talent Marco Palestra. Dodô, currently in contract negotiations with Fiorentina, is another candidate, as are Silvan Widmer from Mainz and Jonathan Clauss from Nice, though both would be considered over-30s. Another name has surfaced through intermediaries: former Torino player Wilfried Singo, who is no longer untouchable at Monaco.
