With only weeks remaining in the Serie A season, Juventus have wasted no time in shaping their transfer strategy for the 2025/26 campaign. The club has already secured the permanent signing of Kelly from Newcastle, activating a purchase obligation following his minimum appearance requirement. However, the main focus for the Bianconeri remains the striker position-a role that could define their ambitions for the coming season.
Osimhen: Juventus’ Top Target
Corriere dello Sport report that Victor Osimhen has emerged as one of the hottest names on Juventus’ transfer radar. The Nigerian forward, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, recently extended his contract with Napoli until 2027. This extension was a strategic move, ensuring Napoli maintain control over his future and potential transfer fee.
Osimhen’s new contract includes a €75 million release clause, but crucially, this clause is only valid for clubs outside of Italy. This means Juventus, if they wish to sign him, must negotiate directly with Napoli rather than simply activating the clause. Reports suggest that Juventus are preparing an offer that could reach €85 million when including bonuses-a figure designed to tempt Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to the table despite past tensions between the clubs’ directors.
Saudi Competition and Salary Demands
Juventus are not alone in their pursuit of Osimhen. Clubs from Saudi Arabia remain keenly interested and are in a position to activate the €75 million release clause, bypassing Napoli’s negotiating power. Should a Saudi club meet this price, the decision would rest solely with Osimhen and his representatives.
Osimhen currently earns a net salary of €11 million per season, just below Juventus’ current striker Dusan Vlahovic. However, Saudi side Al-Hilal are reportedly ready to offer Osimhen a staggering €30–35 million per season, making their proposal financially overwhelming. The prospect of reuniting with former Napoli teammate Kalidou Koulibaly at Al-Hilal could also play a role in Osimhen’s decision.
Alternatives: Lookman on the List
Should negotiations for Osimhen stall, Juventus have identified Ademola Lookman of Atalanta as a strong alternative. The Nigerian international has impressed in Serie A and is expected to leave Atalanta this summer. His valuation stands at around €50 million, and Juventus have already made initial inquiries to gauge the feasibility of a deal.
The Vlahovic Factor
The pursuit of Osimhen is also influenced by the uncertain future of Dusan Vlahovic at Juventus. If Vlahovic is sold, the funds and the need for a marquee striker would make Osimhen the ideal replacement. Juventus’ technical director Cristiano Giuntoli, who maintains a strong relationship with Osimhen’s camp, could be pivotal in brokering a deal.
