The Prisma investigation into Juventus and its former executives continues to advance after a significant decision by the Rome court. Judge Anna Maria Gavoni has rejected the requests from the legal teams representing Juventus and several of its former top officials to annul the indictment order. The defence had argued for dismissal on the basis of two procedural issues, but the court found no grounds to halt the proceedings.
The case centres on allegations of false accounting related to capital gains from player transfers and irregularities in salary manoeuvres. Among those facing charges are former president Andrea Agnelli, former vice president Pavel Nedved, former CEO Maurizio Arrivabene, and former sporting director Fabio Paratici. The investigation scrutinizes several high-profile player deals, including exchanges with clubs like Barcelona, Milan, and Manchester City, as well as salary reductions agreed during the pandemic, which prosecutors claim were falsely reported.
The court also dismissed requests for a preliminary evidentiary hearing and rejected arguments challenging the constitutional legitimacy of the proceedings. All objections raised by the defence were overruled, clearing the way for the trial to proceed.
A new hearing is scheduled for May 19, during which the prosecution and civil parties will present their arguments, and some of the accused are expected to be questioned. The Prisma case remains a focal point in Italian football, with the legal process set to continue in the coming months.
