Juventus Scouting Mission Targets Emerging Serie A Talents Giovane and Bernabé

Start

Juventus continue their scouting efforts to identify the brightest young talents in the Italian league. Tuttosport report that this weekend, a Juventus scout will head to Verona, not for a romantic outing, but to observe the Serie A clash between Hellas Verona and Parma at the Bentegodi Stadium with two specific targets in mind: the Brazilian forward Giovane and the Spanish midfielder Adrian Bernabé.

Both players have already proven to be key figures for their clubs in the fierce battle to avoid relegation, yet they possess the potential to soon step up and compete in a top-tier European club. Recent performances underline their readiness; Giovane and Bernabé have displayed outstanding skills and netted crucial goals against top teams like Inter and Milan, signalling that a January move could be on the horizon.

However, it remains unlikely that either club will be willing to part with these vital players during the winter transfer window starting January 2nd, given their importance to Parma and Verona’s survival hopes. Bernabé, in particular, stands out for his technical ability, vision, and elegant ball control, traits Juventus see as ideal to inject creativity and organisation into their midfield. Despite Juventus’ interest, Parma’s CEO Federico Cherubini is expected to resist offers until at least the summer.

Giovane, meanwhile, is considered one of Verona’s most astute signings, having been acquired on a free transfer from Corinthians in July. Now valued at around €15 million, he has attracted attention from several big clubs. Milan’s sporting director Moncada recently scouted him during a match, while Inter boss Chivu and director Ausilio were similarly impressed in direct encounters. Other Serie A teams, including Atalanta and Roma, have also shown interest, underscoring Giovane’s prospect as one of the season’s most talked-about transfer targets.

Juventus’ interest in Giovane is also strategically tied to their squad’s uncertain future, with doubts growing over forward Openda’s form and Dusan Vlahović’s contract nearing expiry, making Giovane a potential key signing for their attacking options in the coming months.
