Juventus are keeping a close eye on Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, with club scouts recently spotted in London monitoring the French forward. The 28-year-old has made no secret of his desire to leave the Premier League side this summer, seeking a move to a major European club capable of offering Champions League football.
Tuttosport report that the Bianconeri are not rushing into major transfer moves this January, preferring to maintain the balance that manager Luciano Spalletti’s squad has found in recent weeks. However, the club continues to look ahead to the summer, when a broader squad overhaul is expected. Mateta is now firmly on Juventus’ radar as part of that long-term planning.
Mateta, born in 1997, has attracted attention for his physical presence and explosive playing style, drawing comparisons to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. AC Milan were also interested in the forward last summer, but Crystal Palace’s valuation — reportedly around €40 million — proved too steep. That figure could drop significantly to around €20–25 million, especially as Mateta’s contract runs until 2027 and he has made it clear he does not intend to renew.
The Frenchman’s form this season has been impressive. Across 32 appearances in all competitions, Mateta has netted ten goals and provided two assists, confirming his status as a key figure in Oliver Glasner’s side. His consistency and finishing ability have not gone unnoticed in Turin, where Juventus are evaluating options for a potential successor to Dusan Vlahovic in the coming months.
