Juventus Set Prices for Nico Gonzalez and Douglas Luiz Amid Market Uncertainty

Start

Juventus face a pivotal summer as the club seeks to reshape its squad and balance its finances. The ongoing situation with striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has rejected contract offers with reduced terms and signalled his intention to stay unless a suitable offer arrives, has complicated the club’s transfer plans. Juventus management is determined not to let the entire market strategy revolve around Vlahovic’s uncertain future, and as a result, is exploring alternative routes to strengthen the team and stabilize the budget.

One of the primary strategies under consideration is the sale of key players. According to recent reports from Corriere dello Sport, the club has identified Nico Gonzalez and Douglas Luiz as the main candidates for departure, with set asking prices and initial interest already emerging from other clubs.

Nico Gonzalez: A Costly and Disappointing Investment

Nico Gonzalez’s arrival at Juventus was met with skepticism, especially when compared to other potential signings like Jadon Sancho. After a season marked by underwhelming performances and limited impact, both on the pitch and financially, the doubts have only grown. The total cost of Gonzalez’s transfer—including loan fees, additional charges, a mandatory purchase clause, and bonuses—will reach €41.5 million for Juventus. Given his disappointing season and current standing in the squad hierarchy, the club has now set his price between €25 and €30 million, signaling a willingness to move on from the Argentine forward.

Douglas Luiz: Potential Exit to Ease Financial Pressure

Douglas Luiz appears even closer to leaving Turin. The Brazilian midfielder has struggled for form throughout the season, both under Motta and Tudor, hindered by injuries and inconsistent performances. Juventus views his potential sale as an important step to relieve financial strain, and has set his asking price at €40 million. There is reported interest from Saudi Arabian clubs in both Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez, which could accelerate their departures if suitable offers are made.
