Juventus Stand Firm: Perin Not Leaving Turin

Start

The transfer path leading Mattia Perin back to Genoa has cooled significantly in recent hours. The Juventus goalkeeper, who had reportedly reached a personal agreement with his former club, will not be allowed to leave Turin this winter.

Juventus have made their stance clear to Genoa, informing the Ligurian side that they intend to keep hold of Perin. The Bianconeri consider him a key figure in the dressing room and an essential part of the squad’s balance. The club’s management also views his experience as crucial, especially during a decisive phase of the season.

Another factor underlining Juventus’ decision is their reluctance to spend heavily on a replacement. Any incoming goalkeeper would be ineligible for the UEFA list in the final two Champions League group matches — a detail made even more significant by Carlo Pinsoglio’s recent injury.

According to reports from Matteo Moretto, Genoa had submitted an official offer for Perin, which Juventus rejected outright. Despite the player’s reported willingness to return to his former team, the club’s leadership remains firm: Perin will stay in black and white.

Genoa, forced to shift their focus, are now exploring alternative goalkeeping options, with Christos Mandas among those being considered.
