Juventus Step Up Interest in Senesi: The Plan for Summer

Juventus have intensified their pursuit of Marcos Senesi, with new discussions held between the club and the Argentine defender’s representatives. The 28-year-old centre-back has emerged as one of the Bianconeri’s key defensive targets, and the Turin hierarchy are already laying the groundwork to bring him in once the current season ends.

IlBianconero report that the club’s plan is clear: anticipate the competition and move early ahead of the summer transfer window. Senesi’s contract with Bournemouth is set to expire in June, making him available on a free transfer — a factor that only increases Juve’s interest in finalising a deal as soon as possible.

From San Lorenzo to Europe

Born in 1997 and developed in the youth ranks of San Lorenzo, Senesi made his breakthrough in Argentine football before moving to Europe in 2019 to join Feyenoord in the Netherlands. In Rotterdam, he quickly established himself as a first-choice defender, becoming a central figure for the Dutch side and amassing over 100 appearances during his three seasons in the Eredivisie.

Interestingly, Senesi holds Italian ancestry — so much so that in 2022, Roberto Mancini invited him to join the Italian national team setup, an offer the player ultimately declined in favour of representing Argentina.

Establishing Himself in the Premier League

In the summer of 2022, Senesi’s performances earned him a move to the Premier League. Bournemouth secured his signature for around €15 million, and the centre-back soon became a key component of their defensive unit. Since then, he has made nearly 100 appearances for the Cherries, demonstrating consistency, maturity, and strong leadership at the back.

Recognition with Argentina

Senesi’s development has not gone unnoticed at international level. Over recent months, he has broken into the Argentina national team, earning call-ups and putting himself in contention for a place in the squad for the next World Cup. His mix of defensive reliability and technical confidence has impressed the Albiceleste staff.

Why Juventus Want Him

At Continassa, Senesi’s profile ticks all the right boxes. His contract situation presents a valuable opportunity, but beyond the financials, Juve’s interest is driven by technical and tactical appreciation. The club view him as an experienced, left-footed defender who can add balance to the back line, bring composure in possession, and fit seamlessly into a system that values structured build-up play from the back.

With experience in both the Eredivisie and Premier League — and years of consistent performances at the top level — Senesi represents exactly the type of reliable, seasoned professional Juventus want to add to their defensive unit. The club are pushing now to position themselves ahead of competitors and secure one of the most intriguing free-agent opportunities on next summer’s market.
