As the current season draws to a close, Juventus finds itself at a crossroads, with the club’s management preparing for a significant overhaul. The Bianconeri’s performance has fallen short of expectations, leaving Champions League qualification as their sole remaining objective. With recent transfer windows failing to provide the necessary spark, the Old Lady is gearing up for substantial changes come summer.
Calciomercato report how while fingers have been pointed at manager Thiago Motta, it’s the players who find themselves under scrutiny as the transfer window approaches. Starting from the defence, two players face uncertain futures. Andrea Cambiaso, who attracted interest from Manchester City in January, could see that interest materialize into concrete negotiations. Federico Gatti, despite significant playing time, isn’t guaranteed to stay, especially given his reportedly strained relationship with Motta. However, Gatti’s departure might be averted if the former Bologna coach leaves.
In midfield, Douglas Luiz stands out as the most likely candidate for departure. Despite Juventus’ substantial €50 million investment last summer, the Brazilian’s injury woes and underwhelming performances have left their mark. The club may consider offers exceeding €39 million to avoid a financial loss.
The attack, however, harbours the most uncertainties. Dusan Vlahovic, with his contract expiring in 2026 and a hefty €12 million net annual salary, could be on his way out if a contract renewal isn’t reached. Premier League clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation.
Kenan Yildiz’s future is also in question following a season that failed to meet expectations. Like Douglas Luiz, a compelling offer could see the young talent depart. Samuel Mbangula, recently promoted from the Next Gen squad, might be sold to fund other acquisitions.
